Zoho Sign is the e-signature component of Zoho's broader business software suite. If your organisation already runs on Zoho products, Sign integrates naturally with your existing workflows. However, for UK businesses that don't use Zoho's wider ecosystem, Sign as a standalone tool has notable limitations — particularly around data residency. Zoho's primary data centres are in India and the United States, with some EU availability. UK-specific data residency is not guaranteed as a default.
Zoho Sign offers a free tier allowing up to five documents per month. This is attractive for very low-volume use, but any business sending more than five documents monthly needs a paid plan. The Standard plan charges per user, and costs escalate with team size. VedaSign has no free tier but offers a 14-day free trial with full access. At £15/month for unlimited users and documents, VedaSign is more economical for any team sending more than a handful of documents monthly.
Zoho operates primary infrastructure outside the UK. For UK businesses processing personal data through Zoho Sign, this constitutes an international data transfer under UK GDPR. Zoho does publish Standard Contractual Clauses, but UK businesses must review and document these safeguards. VedaSign eliminates this requirement entirely: data stays in the UK.
Zoho's primary data centres are in India and the US. While EU data centre options exist, UK-specific data residency is not a default guarantee. VedaSign stores all data in the UK only.
Zoho Sign's free plan is limited to 5 documents per month. Most UK businesses will exceed this quickly. VedaSign costs £15/month for unlimited documents and users.
